Our History

Menlo Equities is founded with the acquisition of Apple’s original corporate headquarters in Cupertino, CA.

Menlo launches its development platform and has since developed or has in process over 10.3M SF.

Menlo develops its first data center in Silicon Valley, CA.

Menlo develops two buildings for Yahoo in Sunnyvale, CA as part of its corporate headquarters.

Menlo acquires the Palo Alto Internet Exchange (PAIX), located at 529 Bryant Street in Palo Alto, CA.

Menlo develops Juniper Networks’ corporate headquarters in Sunnyvale, CA.

Menlo develops a three-building technology campus in San Diego, CA for Broadcom Corporation and Sony Electronics.

Kevin Kujawski
Partner, Chief Executive Officer

Kevin Kujawski

Kevin Kujawski is a Partner and Chief Executive Officer at Menlo Digital, where he leads the firm’s operations, capital markets activities, and strategic initiatives. Beginning in 2020, he co-led the launch and capitalization of the firm’s dedicated data center platform.

Kevin joined Menlo Equities, Menlo Digital’s parent company, in 2011 as Chief Financial Officer. He has been instrumental in expanding the firm through his efforts leading the formation of Menlo Equities’ open-ended, NNN leased core-plus fund and its institutional data center investment platform.

Kevin has more than 30 years of experience in real estate investment management and corporate finance. He previously held senior financial leadership roles at Starwood Hotels & Resorts, most recently as Chief Financial Officer for Starwood’s Global Development Group, where he helped advance the company’s efforts to expand its global footprint and brand portfolio. Earlier, Kevin was based in London, where he served as European Chief Financial Officer at Action Performance Companies, overseeing licensing partnerships with Formula One and premier, luxury European automotive brands.

Kevin holds a BS in Finance from Arizona State University and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He is an active member of ULI, NAIOP, and PREA.

Michael Johnston
Partner, Chief Investment Officer

C. Michael Johnston

Michael Johnston is a Partner at Menlo Digital, responsible for investment sourcing, acquisitions, and asset management across the firm’s data center portfolio. In addition, he oversees activities around site selection, leasing, and capital allocation for the firm’s funds and investment accounts. Beginning in 2020, Michael also co-led the launch and capitalization of the firm’s dedicated data center platform.

Michael has been at Menlo Equities, Menlo Digital’s parent company, for over 18 years, where he has held roles in acquisitions, asset and portfolio management, and capital raising, including leading the firm’s data center investment activities. Over his career, he has overseen more than $5 billion of real estate transactions, the leasing of over 3 million square feet to leading corporations—including Akamai, Apple, HP Enterprise, Nvidia, and Palo Alto Networks—and the development of over 4 million square feet of technology real estate nationwide.

Michael holds a BA from Northwestern University, where he currently serves on its regional leadership council. He is active in ULI, NAIOP and PREA, where he is a member of ULI’s data center council and was previously President of the Silicon Valley Chapter of NAIOP and served on its National Board of Directors.

Jane Vaughan
Partner, Chief Development Officer

Jane Vaughan

Jane Vaughan is a Partner at Menlo Digital, where she leads the design and execution of the firm’s national data center platform. Her responsibilities include site planning, entitlements, power procurement, and project and construction management in key markets such as Northern Virginia, Silicon Valley, and Phoenix.

With over 25 years of experience in complex real estate development, she has played a pivotal role at Menlo Equities, Menlo Digital’s parent company, in delivering more than 10 million square feet of projects across the United States, including a landmark 1.65 million-square-foot technology campus in Santa Clara—now home to Palo Alto Networks’ global headquarters. Her background in structural engineering provides a strong technical foundation for leading high-performance infrastructure development in demanding markets.

Jane holds a BS in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University, an MS in Structural Engineering from the University of Maryland, and an MBA with honors from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

She is also deeply committed to community service. She currently serves on the board of LifeMoves, a Silicon Valley nonprofit that provides interim housing for those experiencing homelessness, previously chaired the board of Goodwill San Francisco, and assisted Sunnyvale Community Services with finding a home for their operations.

Chris Coleman
SVP, Head of Leasing

Chris Coleman

Chris Coleman leads Menlo Digital's customer engagement, marketing, and leasing efforts.

He has over 30 years of experience in the digital infrastructure sector spanning global enterprise development, hyperscale growth, and AI-driven innovation, and. Prior to joining Menlo Digital, Chris was a Vice President at Digital Realty (NYSE: DLR) responsible for hyperscale projects and revenue for global accounts in the Americas region. Over 14 years at Digital Realty, he held progressive leadership and strategic sales roles. Earlier in his career, Chris held leadership positions at SunGard Availability Services and American Power Conversion (now Schneider Electric). Over his career, Chris has successfully negotiated contracts representing nearly 1 GW of data center capacity.

Chris holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Allison Koo
SVP, Development & Construction

Allison Koo

Allison Koo serves as Senior Vice President, Development and Construction at Menlo Digital, where she is responsible for the entitlement, power procurement, design, and construction activities for all data center development projects.

Allison has over 20 years of commercial real estate experience, where she has completed over 1.5 million square feet of development projects and currently manages a data center development portfolio of ~1 GW. Prior to joining Menlo Equities, Menlo Digital’s parent company, Allison was a Managing Director at Sand Hill Property Company overseeing multiple development projects across the San Francisco Bay Area.

Allison is a trustee of Castilleja School in Palo Alto, CA and serves as head of the Buildings & Grounds Committee.

Allison received her MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and her BA from the University of Pennsylvania.

Robyn Arnell Brenden
SVP, Chief Financial Officer

Robyn Arnell Brenden

Robyn Arnell Brenden serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Menlo Digital, bringing over 30 years of leadership experience in corporate finance, accounting, and strategic planning across the real estate, technology, and consumer sectors. She has held senior finance roles at both public and privately held companies, including three Fortune 500 organizations.

Throughout her career, Robyn has built and led high-performing teams and developed scalable financial and operational processes to support rapid growth and business transformation. She most recently served as Chief Accounting Officer at Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and held prior finance leadership roles with CWT, Sprouts Farmers Market, Marriott International, and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Her ability to align finance strategy with business objectives has consistently driven operational excellence and long-term value creation.

She received her BS in Finance & Accounting from the University of Arizona. Robyn serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for Valley of the Sun United Way, is a Board Member of the Arizona Women’s Leadership Forum, and sits on the Finance Committee for First Tee – Phoenix, reflecting her deep commitment to community impact and leadership development.

Adam Janota
SVP, Interconnectivity and Colocation

Adam Janota

Adam Janota leads Menlo Digital's interconnection and colocation strategy. With more than 30 years of experience in digital infrastructure, he has held leadership positions at Equinix and Global Cloud Xchange, focusing on business development, global networks, and strategic partnerships.

Adam earned a Bachelor of Science in Ceramic Engineering from Alfred University.

Max Pearson
VP, Investments

Maxwell Pearson

Maxwell Pearson is involved in acquisitions and asset management for Menlo Digital’s data center development platform. He is responsible for sourcing new investment opportunities, leading due diligence efforts, supporting capital markets activities, and managing development pipelines across key markets.

Prior to joining Menlo Equities, the parent company of Menlo Digital, Max worked for LaSalle Investment Management, where he supported portfolio strategy and asset management for a range of institutional real estate holdings.

He serves on the General Plan Update Committee for the City of Newport Beach.

Max graduated from the University of Southern California with a BS in Real Estate Development.

Vir Chahal
VP, Development

Vir Chahal

Vir Chahal leads power procurement, utility engagement, and supports the design and project management of Menlo Digital's data center developments. With more than 20 years of experience in the power industry, he has advised developers, utilities, and system operators on site selection, resource planning, renewable integration, and transmission strategy.

Prior to Menlo Digital, Vir held leadership roles at BRG, Guidehouse, and GE.

He earned engineering degrees from Tufts University and Stony Brook University.

Jonothan Fehling
VP, Solutions Engineering

Jonothan Fehling

Jonothan "Jono" Fehling leads technical solution design, client engagement, and pre- and post-sales support. With more than 15 years of experience in hyperscale data centers, he has held leadership roles at Equinix and Amazon Web Services, helping customers develop and deploy global infrastructure solutions.

Jono earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Seattle Pacific University.

Dayne Jagga
VP, Acquisitions

Dayne Jagga

Dayne Jagga is involved in acquisitions and asset management for Menlo Digital’s data center platform. He is responsible for sourcing new investment opportunities, leading due diligence efforts, supporting capital markets activities, and managing development pipelines across key markets.

Prior to joining Menlo Digital, Dayne served as a Director on CBRE's Data Center Capital Markets team, where he advised investors on the acquisition and disposition of data center investment properties across North America.

Dayne graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a BS in Finance and Accounting.

Joshua Mitchell
VP, Controller

Joshua Mitchell

Josh Mitchell oversees Menlo Digital's financial management and reporting functions. He brings more than 15 years of accounting and finance experience supporting commercial and residential real estate development. Josh specializes in development and investment accounting and financial reporting.

He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Master of Accountancy from the University of Idaho.

Joel Krause
Sr. Director, Strategic Finance & Capital Markets

Joel Krause

Joel Krause oversees Menlo Digital's Strategic Finance and Capital Markets function, with responsibilities that include lender and investor due diligence, financial forecasting and reporting, and coordination across the underwriting, financing, and capital markets process supporting the company's data center development platform.

Prior to joining Menlo Digital, Joel spent 10 years at CBRE, where he built and led a global finance organization. His experience spans strategic finance, financial planning and analysis, mergers and acquisitions, capital planning, and finance operations.

Joel holds an MBA from Southeast Missouri State University and an MA in International Business and Economics.

Lindsay Bruckal
Director, Construction

Lindsay Bruckal

Lindsay Bruckal leads the planning, design, procurement, and construction of mission-critical data center development projects. With more than 15 years of experience in commercial and industrial real estate and construction, Lindsay has successfully delivered over 3 million square feet of development representing more than $2 billion in project value. Her experience spans all phases of project delivery, from early planning and design through procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.

Prior to joining Menlo Digital, Lindsay served as a Project Executive at Clayco, where she oversaw the delivery of multiple large-scale projects throughout Arizona.

Lindsay earned both her MBA and BS in Construction Management from Arizona State University.

Su Wai
Director, Construction

Su Wai

Su Wai oversees construction projects from preconstruction through commissioning, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. She brings more than 15 years of experience managing data center, healthcare, and heavy civil projects for clients including Equinix, Digital Realty, and QTS.

Su holds graduate and undergraduate degrees in Civil Engineering.

Jason Welsh
Director, Technical Services

Jason Welsh

Jason Welsh focuses on the firm’s data center investments and infrastructure execution within Menlo Digital.

Prior to joining Menlo Equities, Jason spent over 12 years managing mission-critical infrastructure development, construction execution, and long-term facility performance. Over the course of his career, he has served as Operations Manager on nine major data center developments, overseeing greenfield builds and phased capacity expansions while managing entitlement, utility planning, commissioning, and operational readiness.

Jason served as a nuclear submarine technician in the U.S. Navy.

Oliver Yang
Director, Development

Oliver Yang

Oliver Yang brings more than 13 years of experience in data center development, construction management, and mechanical engineering. He has led large-scale projects from design through commissioning, including a $400 million data center development.

Prior to Menlo Digital, Oliver was a Senior Project Manager at Turner & Townsend.

He holds a Master of Science in Building Science from the University of Southern California and is a licensed Professional Engineer.

Monica Thompkins
Accounts Payable Manager

Monica Thompkins

Monica Thompkins brings more than 26 years of accounting and finance experience, specializing in accounts payable, vendor management, and financial operations. She has led process improvements, financial controls, and automation initiatives for global organizations.

Monica is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Grand Canyon University.

Cristal Deloney
Assistant Controller

Cristal Deloney

Cristal Deloney is part of Menlo Digital’s accounting team, where she focuses on financial reporting and supporting the company’s broader accounting operations.

She brings nearly a decade of experience across real estate investment portfolios and precision manufacturing and graduated with honors from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business and holds a Master of Accountancy from the University of Arizona.

Freddy Aber
Manager, Project Controller

Freddy Aber

Freddy Aber oversees the financial management of the company's data center development projects. His responsibilities include project accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cost control, and supporting cross-functional teams throughout the development lifecycle.

Prior to joining Menlo Digital, Freddy was an Accounting Manager at KB Home, where he managed accounting operations and financial reporting for residential development projects.

Freddy holds a BBA in Accounting from Iona University.

Alex Vega
Senior Accountant

Alex Vega

Alex Vega supports Menlo Digital's accounting and financial reporting functions. He brings over three years of public accounting experience across diverse industries, including consumer products, automotive, and construction. Prior to Menlo Digital, Alex specialized in financial statement audits, internal controls, and risk assessment at Deloitte and Eide Bailly.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from California State University, Fullerton.

Renee Chavez
Sr. Project Accountant

Renee Chavez

Renee Chavez is involved in Menlo's financial reporting and accounting activities.

Prior to joining Menlo, Renee worked at KB Home as a Senior Cost Accountant, where she spent over two and a half years supporting construction accounting, cost reporting, and financial operations.

Renee earned a BS in Accountancy from Arizona State University in 2023.

Derek Legeza
Sr. Property Accountant

Derek Legeza

Derek Legeza is involved in Menlo Digital's financial reporting and accounting activities.

Prior to joining Menlo Digital in 2026, Derek worked at Mark-Taylor Residential as a Senior Portfolio Accountant. Before his time at Mark-Taylor Residential, Derek worked at Alliance Residential as a Staff Accountant.

Derek is a graduate of Pacific University with a BA in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting.

Alexander Brundage
Associate, Investments

Alex Brundage

Alexander Brundage serves as Associate where he is involved in Menlo Digital’s underwriting and analysis of acquisitions, development projects, and financings.

Prior to joining Menlo Digital in 2025, Alexander worked as a Capital Markets Associate at Cushman & Wakefield in San Francisco.

Alexander received his BS in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.

Elizabeth Chan
Associate, Development & Construction

Elizabeth Chan

Elizabeth Chan serves as Associate, Development & Construction at Menlo Digital where she is responsible for supporting all aspects of data center development, including site evaluation, financial analysis, and project execution.

Prior to joining Menlo Digital, she spent two years at Prologis in San Francisco as an Investment Analyst, where she underwrote industrial land and building acquisitions and contributed to the development of owned assets.

Elizabeth received her BA in Business Economics from the University of California, Irvine.

Risa Itow
Sr. Analyst, Investments

Risa Itow

Risa Itow supports underwriting and financial analysis for acquisitions, development projects, and financing activities.

Prior to joining Menlo Digital, she worked in acquisitions and asset management at Bailard Real Estate Fund and began her career with JLL Capital Markets.

Risa earned a BS in Real Estate and Development from the University of California, San Diego.

Andrew Hoyt
Procurement Analyst

Andrew Hoyt

Andrew Hoyt supports Menlo Digital's OFCI Procurement process.

Prior to joining Menlo Digital, Andrew worked for Northrop Grumman, where he managed supplier research and discovery, global sourcing initiatives, and procurement activities supporting U.S. defense systems.

Andrew holds BS degrees in Supply Chain Management and Entrepreneurship & Emerging Enterprises from Syracuse University. He is also an ASCM Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).

Executive Assistant

Kimberly Parker

Kim Parker serves as Executive Assistant and Office Operations Lead for Menlo Digital, where she supports leadership and oversees a wide range of administrative and operational initiatives. Her responsibilities include executive support, office operations, recruiting coordination, onboarding, vendor management, event planning, and cross-functional project coordination.
